Christina Thorburn (Niwot), a senior rower for Willamette University, was part of the team’s community service effort to help at the Marion Polk Food Share in Salem, Ore. Sept. 25. Thorburn noted that the team enjoyed the experience of working in the community, “felt useful” and learned a lot in the process. Willamette Rowing was nationally ranked last season, and competed in the Head of the Charles Regatta Oct. 23-24, which is the largest 2-day rowing event in the world. Thorburn was part of Willamette’s second boat, which competed in the Women’s Collegiate 8+ race, rowing in the 5-seat.
