New appointments for Niwot Local Improvement District

The Boulder County Commissioners picked several new members for the Niwot Local Improvement District last week.

Current Co-Chair Laura Skaggs was re-appointed as the Niwot Community Association representative for her second five-year term.

Anne Postle was nominated by the Niwot Business Association to replace term-limited Tony Santelli, and the commissioners confirmed her as the Niwot Business Association representative for a five-year term. Postle is an architect and owner of Osmosis Art & Architecture in Niwot, and is also a resident of Niwot.

Scott Firle is a new resident representative, replacing Satir DeMarco who served a five-year term. Firle is the Member Relations Director for the Boulder Chamber of Commerce according to his Linkedin profile.

Bruce Rabeler was appointed as the new business representative, replacing Howard Treppeda who did not reapply. Rabeler, a Niwot resident, is a co-owner of Niwot’s Little Bird boutique with his wife, Liz Gould. He is also a sales representative for Little Valley Wholesale Nursery, according to his Linkedin profile.

The seats on the nine-member board include one from the NCA and one from the NBA, four from businesses included in the LID and three Niwot residents. Members are limited to two consecutive five-year terms. Other current members of the advisory committee include Co-Chair Carrie Wise, Harris Faberman, Jay Champion, Jim Eastman and Bruce Warren.

The purpose of the committee is to serve as an independent board to give the county commissioners input on funding requests submitted to the LID. The committee reports directly to the commissioners, who serve as the board of directors of the LID, which collects a one percent sales tax in Niwot, generally raising approximately $160,000 in revenue each year, which is earmarked to benefit the Niwot business district.
