In miserable, wet conditions, Niwot battled the Tiger’s hard-hitting physical attack to the point of exhaustion, twice coming back to tie the game, and then finally winning on senior Maddie Barkow’s “golden goal” in 98th minute.     The Niwot girls track and field team can add another title to its already lengthy list: 2017 Northern League champions. In yet another dominating performance, the Cougars outscored their nearest opponent by more than 60 points to capture first place at last weekend’s conference meet, winning nine of the 19 events, including all three sprints and both hurdles races.     Fairview High golfer Kelsey Webster won the American Junior Golf Association Girls’ Division title at Meadowbrook Country Club in Mt. Pleasant, WI, Sunday May 6, with scores of 83-82, for a 165 total. In accepting the medal, Webster said, “This is my first AJGA event that I’ve ever played in.About a year ago I started playing golf seriously and my scores started dropping.     McBride steps down as head coach Before the 2017 season began, Niwot head baseball coach Craig McBride had a roster full of nine potential pitchers and a heart full of hope.   • Niwot finishes seventh at Class 4A Regionals

    The Niwot girls golf season came to an unexpectedly early end at the Class 4A Region 4 tournament last Friday. With a team score of 326 (+110), the Cougars finished seventh in the 10-team field, and no individual golfer qualified for the upcoming state tournament. Niwot head coach Ed Weaver was philosophical about his team’s struggles at Murphy Creek, and even if it wasn’t the fairytale ending he was hoping for, he nonetheless considers the 2017 a success. “We had an interesting year,” he said... Full story

  • Why Not Niwot? Juried Art Show this month

    This month’s First Friday Art Walk kicked off a juried art show spread throughout various businesses. Michelle Henzel, with Osmosis and other Niwot Cultural Arts Association board members, launched the Why Not Niwot Juried Art Show in eight different businesses for the May art walk.
