It was no April Fool’s joke when Frank Richard Duran of Lafayette was sentenced to 25 years in prison at Weld County District Court on Friday, April 1. Duran was arrested for setting a Niwot home on fire last year and attempting to drown a Pomeranian, “Cujo,” in addition to other crimes in Weld County. Following the recent changes to Colorado Real Estate Holdings’ (CREH) application for a proposed marijuana retail facility in Niwot, No Pot in Niwot submitted its response to Boulder County. The Niwot Local Improvement District (LID) met on Tue., April 5 to discuss a funding request for flowers and the issue of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in Niwot. The only funding request for the night was for flowers, with the Niwot Business Association (NBA) submitting an $18,000 application.
