The Niwot girls tennis team continued its recent run of dominant play with a sweep of all seven title matches at this year’s Class 4A, Region 5 Tournament, held at the Longmont Recreation Center on May 3 and 4. Members of the Military Order of the Purple Heart in Boulder County are holding a drive to help the OUR Center in Longmont. The event is leading up to Armed Forces Day, which celebrates all branches of our military. This year it will be observed on May 20, always the third Saturday in May. At its May 2 meeting the Niwot LID Advisory Committee heard a preview at what’s shaping up to be another busy summer around town. Before considering the four funding requests on the agenda, the Co-chair Laura Skaggs reviewed the February 2017 revenue report. Hunter Stephens, a senior at Niwot High School, has been an important part of the Cougar baseball team during his high school career. Stephens, who carries a 3.0 GPA, saw action in 11 varstiy games as a sophomore, batting .333.
