  • New Niwot business providing homemade plant-based fare

    Kristin Alger|Feb 22, 2023

What started as a way for two friends to give back to the community ended up being the impetus for a new business: Plant Based Boulder. When the Marshall fire erupted in December 2021, Niwot area residents Amy Cramer and Miche Bacher knew what they could do to help. Both professional chefs and cookbook authors, Cramer said they realized, "Someone needs food. Someone needs us." And with that, the two got to work. Reaching out to the Boulder Jewish Community Center (JCC), they arranged to use the...

For Niwot senior Dakota Allison and junior Jasper Allison, the pandemic focused them on their musical training and they decided to form a band: Voltage 85. "Jasper and I have been doing music our whole lives," Dakota said. "We started off in 2020, just us jamming with another guitarist and it took off from there." The meeting was led by Sustainable Agriculture Planner Sabrina Torres and Long Range Planner Andrea Vaughn. "Compost helps reduce waste and mitigate climate vulnerabilities," said Torres. "It's really rather than sending food and yard scraps to a landfill, composting upcycles these resources into an environmentally beneficial product and these materials woul...

    Gene Hayworth|Feb 22, 2023

Mimi Archibold, this week's Arts Student of the Week, was motivated to become an actress by watching her sisters, and she had many to choose from. Archibold has eight older siblings. "When I was really young," Archibold said, "I watched two of my older siblings perform in plays with a small theatre company and later I watched my sister, Mary, star in half the plays she did at Niwot. I'd say she's probably been my biggest motivator when it came to acting." Every time she listens to a new musical...

  • Letter to the Editor - The Culture War Comes to Niwot

Niwot is also the site of...
