    Niwot Legion D entered the Colorado American Legion Baseball State Tournament as the eighth seed in the eight-team, double elimination tournament. Though Legion D is composed of 12 teams, only eight qualified to compete in the tournament.     Thursday, July 21, to Sunday, July 24, Niwot Legion B competed in the 2016 Colorado American Legion Baseball State Tournament at Arvada High School. The tournament used a 12-team, double elimination format. Niwot faced the Brighton Bulldogs in its first game of the tournament on Thursday, July 21.     FOOTBALL Former Niwot High Football Coach Ron Tesone has been hired to teach and coach at Central of Grand Junction this fall. Tesone will teach business classes and serve as an assistant football coach. He spent many years teaching and coaching at Niwot before moving to Silver Creek for the past few years. Tesone also served as an assistant football coach at Boulder High. Former Niwot High Football Coach Paul “Tiny” Koehler is back for another season as an assistant coach at Fort Lewis College.
