Led by top five individual finishes from juniors Jack Hoover and Andrew Elliott, the Niwot boys golf team took second at the Class 4A Region 1 tournament held Monday and qualified to compete as a team at the state tournament for the second year in a row. Hoover carded a 73 (+3) for the day, which was good for second place, behind defending 4A state champion Luke Trujillo (-5) of Discovery Canyon. Junior Andrew Elliott (+8) also had a big day in Pueblo, shooting a 78 (+8) to take fifth place...
