The Niwot boys tennis team capped off their best regular season since 2015 with a dominating performance at the Class 4A Region 5 tournament, held Oct. 3-4 at the Longmont Rec. Center. Niwot swept all seven championship matches and qualified for a team berth to the state tournament, which opens at Pueblo’s City Park on Oct. 11. Lucas, a longtime resident of the area, said she opened the store with her retirement savings, moving it from the Boulder Airport and expanding her merchandise offerings so that it would be the “department store” for the town. Inventory was ver...

    Jocelyn Rowley, [email protected]|Oct 11, 2018

The accolades just keep coming for Bootstrap Brewing Company. At last month’s Great American Beer Fest in Denver, its 1956 Golden Ale was awarded a silver medal in the Golden or Blonde Ale category, beating out 125 other entries for the prize. With a “crisp, dry” taste, the Golden is the Niwot brewery’s lightest and most drinkable beer, and serves as the base for it popular pineapple-infused Chillax. When Bootstrap co-owner and chief brewer Steven Kaczeus created the brewery’s signature...
