    The Niwot Cougars football team kicked-off their 2016 campaign on Thursday night with a 34-14 victory over the Adams City Eagles at Everly-Montgomery Field in Longmont.     A small plane crashed last Wednesday, June 15 in Creede, Colorado, killing the three people on board, including 17-year-old Niwot High School student David Louwers, of Longmont.     The Niwot High School football team is currently holding a fundraiser to raise money for new uniforms, funds for camp and new, safer helmets.     For youngsters in the area, Niwot Youth Sports (NYS) has brought a lifetime of memories and experiences since its beginnings with recreational baseball in the late 1960’s.
