The Niwot Children's Park has had many eyes on it, especially those of little children, for a number of months as they've awaited the opening of the park for play. The Longmont Museum is debuting a new exhibition on Sept.17 featuring classic, lowrider cars and their lengthy history in Colorado. The exhibit runs to May 14, 2017. The exhibit has been nearly two years in the making and will give visitors a look into how the vehicles were made, including the upholstery, hydraulics, paint and wheels. “There’s a really strong lowrider scene in Colorado and Longmont,” Exhibit Curator Jared Thompson said. “Longmont alone has over 200 lowriders in itself. Pollard Jeep in Boulder, located at 2360 30th St., will be moving later this year to 5075 Pearl Parkway, a mile east of its current location. The local Jeep dealership is currently building a new 28,000-square-foot facility. Construction began in February 2016 and the new site is expected to open in late November to mid-December of this year. Maddy McCambridge, Kelsey Webster and Taylor Sunset, who live within a couple of miles of each other in Gunbarrel, went to state in Class 5A girls golf last year as part of Coach John Zerwin’s Fairview High School squad. The second annual Let’s Wine About Winter event, went off without a hitch last Saturday, Feb. 20. But if you attended last year’s event, you noticed one very stark difference—the weather.
