Longmont’s Meals on Wheels program is now serving Niwot residents all week long. Boulder County and the City of Boulder will begin audible testing of the countywide emergency sirens at 10 a.m. on Monday, April 2. The test is the first of the monthly emergency audible siren tests, which take place each year on the first Monday of each month from April through August. Boulder County Transportation Director George Gerstle announced last week that the county has suspended the subdivision paving incentive fund. The reason, he said, is due to issues with the Federal Emergency Management Agency. In a case that began last year, Gunbarrel resident Kristin Bjornsen is now taking her lawsuit against Boulder County to the Colorado Court of Appeals. Bjornsen’s suit alleges that the Boulder County Commissioners have violated the Colorado Open Records Act (CORA) and the Colorado Open Meetings Law (COML). Upgrades to local trails are a few steps closer to being ready for the upcoming warmer weather. Charges have been filed against two juveniles following a Feb. 16 “Safe 2 Tell” report at Niwot High School. Boulder Rural Fire Rescue Chief Bruce Mygatt retired earlier this year after 46 years with the department.
