All Local, All The Time
The Niwot Children’s Park is less than $60,000 from reaching its goal of $500,000. The fundraising campaign was officially launched in July of 2015. It started with $250,000 from Jeff & Cynthia Lambert and has raised almost $200,000 in under six months.
Where has all this money come from? Well, to start, the future park is surrounded by a very generous community. Primarily, it has come from a variety of local businesses, community groups and individuals. Donations have also been made in memory of loved ones who have passed away and by out-of-state relatives in honor of their family members living in Niwot.
One large event, the Children’s Park Jamboree held last September, brought in over $27,000 in just one day. Donation amounts have varied, ranging from $5 to $50,000. Some have come as general contributions to the overall development fund, while others have been specified for a specific piece of equipment or aspect of the park. All donors giving $100 or more will be recognized on a permanent plaque at the park. For now, that list can be viewed on the park website at niwotchildrenspark.com.
If you would like to have your family or company’s name included, there’s still time to reach out to the Niwot Children’s Park to donate. Be sure to follow the progress, both for fundraising and the park construction, at facebook.com/niwotchildrenspark.
Donations can be made online at http://www.niwotchildrenspark.com, or by mailing to the Niwot Cultural Arts Association, P.O. Box 733, Niwot, CO 80544.
