Niwot football puts on fundraiser

The Niwot High School football team is currently holding a fundraiser to raise money for new uniforms, funds for camp and new, safer helmets.

The Cougar team is turning to technology for its fundraiser and using an online fundraising website in hopes of reaching more people. They ask for supporters to share the website with friends and family members on Facebook and Twitter to spread the word.

With only a couple weeks left of the online fundraiser, the team hopes to reach its goal of $7,500, which shouldn’t be too difficult since they’re almost to $6,500 already. According to the fundraising website, “Donations allow us to provide our young athletes with safe and reliable equipment so they can compete to the best of their abilities.”

With the cost of uniforms and equipment being so high today, the team knows it won’t be able to pull together the money it needs on its own. Donations will also go toward travel costs, video equipment, camp, weight room equipment and football practice equipment, in addition to new uniforms.

“Your support will help us offer a higher quality high school football experience for all our kids. Your donation can be tax deductible and you will be getting a receipt for your gift,” according to the website.

Parents, coaches and supporters know how hard the football players work throughout the year, especially during their season, and hope they can enjoy some of the rewards they deserve.

“Our young men have been working hard to properly represent this great school. Any support is greatly appreciated.”
