Gunbarrel man shot in dispute

A Gunbarrel man is in the hospital with a non-life-threatening injury following a dispute between neighbors at the Willow Condominium Complex on the 6200 block of Willow Lane in Gunbarrel.

The suspect, age 59, allegedly shot the victim, age 46, in the buttocks with a small caliber handgun. Names are not being released at this time.

The victim was transported to an undisclosed hospital, and the suspect was also checked in for a medical evaluation, both transported by ambulance.

According Commander Mike Wagner with the Boulder County Sheriff’s Department, the cause of the dispute is unknown at this time.

The weapon was recovered at the scene, and they believe at this point only one round was fired.

A 911 call was received at 3:35 p.m. on Thursday, deputies were dispatched less than 30 seconds later. They arrived on scene at 3:41.
