Niwot runs the Bolder Boulder

Zach Parris of Niwot had the best local time in the Bolder Boulder 10K on May 30, 2016, crossing the finish line at 37:04.08, which was 180th overall, and seventh in his M32 age group division. Parris, who describes himself as Theological Cartographer at Lutheran Campus Ministry at the University of Colorado Boulder on his Facebook page, is a fan of Niwot Market’s Friday night dinners.

Mikhail Ivanov was next among Niwot runners at 38:02.78 and also seventh in his M37 division; while Paul Ambrose was third at 38:12.31, which was 11th in the M31 division.

Sixteen-year old Kamran Elahi finished fifth at 42:18.56, 36th in the M16 division.

Kristen Arendt was the top female runner from Niwot, and had the sixth-best overall time at 42:44.44. She was also sixth in the F27 division. She is a native of Bailey, Colorado, and works as Editor/Content Manager at Adventure Products in Boulder, according to her LinkedIn profile.

Longtime Niwot resident Ted Benning had one of the highest age group finishes, taking fourth in the M56 division and seventh among all Niwot runners.

Stephanie Nielsen had the second-best women’s time among Niwot runners at 45:24.48, and sixth-best in her F32 adivision. Emma Schaefer was next at 46:42.90, and 12th in her F16 division.

Recent Niwot High grad Elliot Minor finished 29th in his M19 division, while Ryan Uhland, another NHS grad, finished 52nd in the M18 division. On the women’s side, recent NHS grad Jenna Edwards finished 15th in the F18 division, and her mother, Karen Edwards, took fifth in her M40 division. Heather Rodgers finished eighth in her F40 division.

The best age group runner from Niwot was veteran runner Bob Kilcullen, who finished third in the M70 division. Lynn Leier finished 10th in the M75 division, while Judith Martinez finished 21st in the F73 division.

Juliet Pilewski, who played basketball at Niwot a few years ago, finished 21st in the F20 age group. Claire McPeak, who is better known for her golfing abilities for Niwot High School, finished 36th in her F19 division. Drew Pasma, who played outfield for Niwot High’s state runner-up baseball team in 2014, finished 76th in the M20 division.

Many Niwot families ran the 10K together, often finishing within a few seconds of each other.
