Photo by Ed Navarro Niwot High's Skye Messinger was a unanimous Northern League All-Conference selection.
Niwot junior Skye Messinger was a unanimous choice for Northern League All-Conference after hitting .493 and playing superb defense at shortstop. Messinger was also voted by players and coaches as the Offensive Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year.
Senior Ford Ladd, who will continue his baseball career at NYU, was Honorable Mention All-Conference, and was voted Pitcher of the Year by his teammates and coaches. Senior outfielder Jake Sims also received Honorable Mention All-Conference.
Senior infielder Joe Wilson was voted by the players and coaches as Most Valuable Team Player.
A number of Cougar players received academic awards, with Ladd, Wilson and senior Zach Morgan, who will play baseball at Monmouth College, earning Academic All-State First Team honors. Seniors Michael Agado, Christian Cloar and Tyler Meek joined juniors Messinger, Trevor Green and Griffin Mitchell in earning Academic All-State Honorable Mention.
