Rumors that a student had brought a gun to Niwot High School this morning caused a lockdown and lockout.
The district has since reported that ALL students are SAFE in their classrooms and that the building has been secured.
Boulder County Sheriff's Cmdr. Mike Wagner said the following in a statement:
"At this point we have no credible threat and no confirmation that the rumor is true, but out of an abundance of caution, we are treating the information as being potentially real until we can rule out or determine that the rumor is untrue," Wagner said.
The above comment was made before the district gave the all clear after law enforcement went through the facility.
