Niwot Elementary Second Graders are Thankful For…

In preparation for the Thanksgiving holiday, students in the second grade at Niwot Elementary wrote about what they are thankful for. Below are excerpts from some of their paragraphs.

Mrs. Tagley’s Class

Dennie—I am thankful for my family.

Savannah—I am thankful for my 97-year-old grandma

Annalee—I am thankful for what the tooth fairy gives me when I lose a tooth.

EJ—I am thankful for my house because it is shelter.

Tahlia—I am thankful for my dog Birdie because she makes me happy when I’m sad.

Camilla—I am thankful that I am safe and that my family is healthy.

Silas—I am thankful for my chickens because they lay eggs.

Marin—I am thankful for my family because they love us and help us whenever needed.

Lottie—I am thankful for my cousins because they keep me busy.

Mrs. Cavanaugh’s Class

Austin—I am thankful for doctors because they save us from illness, sickness, and diseases.

Vivienne—I am thankful for the environment because it provides all the things we need to survive.

Shaan—I am thankful for health because if I got sick I would die.

Avery—I am thankful for my education because I would not be very smart or I would not get a good job if I did not go to school.

Connor—I am thankful for electricity because without it I wouldn’t be able to see in the dark.

Kate—I am thankful for my family because they give me support.

Kai—I am thankful for money because without money we wouldn’t be able to get things we need.

Larkyn—I am thankful for food because we need enough food to be strong and healthy.

Reid—I am thankful for my friends because they keep you company and play with you and make you feel important.

Baker—I am thankful for my family and friends so that means I am loved and not lonely.
