All Local, All The Time
Editor’s note: This is the first in a series of spotlights on area churches. If you would like your church in a future issue, please contact [email protected].
Founded in 1870, Niwot United Methodist Church has helped Boulder County become what it is today. Our congregation consists of families from Niwot itself, as well as Gunbarrel and the greater Longmont and Boulder areas.
Our family-friendly community-based church is committed to intergenerational community, believing that when we build relationships across the generations we are more vibrant and whole. We practice our faith by making the world a better place through outreach and mission, locally and around the world.
One can get involved in our church in many ways: we serve at the Boulder Homeless Shelter, we volunteer in our communities, we assist area organizations that help the homeless, families living in poverty, and others in need. We also enjoy fellowship together, church services that involve all ages, and fun outings together from time to time.
As Christians, we believe in the example of Jesus Christ and his inclusive and sacrificial love. We open our hearts, minds, and doors to all people without exception, honoring everyone without regard to sexual orientation, race, nationality, gender, family structure, ethnic background, economic circumstances, difference in ability, culture or age. We strive to understand and appreciate diversity in our world, believing that when we embrace diversity we embrace God.
Those looking for a place to embrace the community and world around us in a myriad of ways are encouraged to stop in and say hello. We meet Sunday mornings at 10:20 at 7405 Lookout Road in Gunbarrel.
