Lucky Pie to open in Niwot next year

Lucky Pie Pizza and Tap House is working towards opening another location on the lower level of the Link building at 7916 Niwot Road, the southeast corner of the intersection of 79th Street and Niwot Road in Cottonwood Square.

This new restaurant will join their Denver and original Louisville locations some time next year.

“It’s pretty early to say,” co-owner James Samara said. “I’d guess mid-2017 would be a fair bet. It could be as early as April or as late as July.”

The restaurant is locally-owned and is known for its wide variety of brews on tap, along with organic brick oven pizza. The Lucky Pie website notes that 27 taps of craft beer are available to complement Neopolitan style pizza.

“We know what we’re doing and we know what the food and beer programs are going to be,” Samara said. “It’s just a matter of getting a better idea of when we’re opening.”

The Louisville restaurant is located at 637 Front Street, while the Denver location is in Lodo at 1610 16th Street. The menu includes salads, antipasti and sandwiches as well.

The Link building was home to various offices before being acquired and remodeled by Jim and Anne Postle. The upstairs continues to be used as office space, and approval was obtained from Boulder County to convert the lower level to a restaurant, complete with outdoor patio seating on the west side.
