All Local, All The Time
Sunset Middle School’s 2nd annual Fall Crawl is just around the corner on Friday October 6.
The Fall Crawl promotes a sense of community at Sunset by which every student participates whether they run or walk and in addition will receive a Spartan logo t-shirt.
Last year’s inaugural event was so successful it met the school’s goal of $20,000 with 100% participation – enabling the school to purchase new sport uniforms and fund teacher-directed events such as the Robotics Competition.
This year Sunset’s goal is to raise $25,000! Funds will go towards purchasing a new scoreboard for the gym. Also rumored to be on the wish list are robots for the growing Robotics Classes, funding educational field trips and a scrolling sign for the front of the school building. In addition to the community focus of the event, it also promotes healthy activity for the students as they run or walk for 25 minutes around the track.
Assistant Principal Sara Olson said, “It is a great day that celebrates what Sunset is all about, working together as one to raise money for our school.
And the greatest part of this entire event is seeing every student, teacher and parent that participates walking around the track in their Fall Crawl T-Shirt. ”
Families will have an opportunity to contribute to this event - you can provide a flat fee donation or a per lap donation.

Local businesses are welcome to participate as well – there are opportunities to sponsor, match donations or offer goods for prizes to the students.
This event is run by the PAC – a 501(c)(3) charitable organization – so all monetary donations are tax deductible. If you have any questions about the event, please contact Lydia Moy at [email protected].
Regardless of amount, know that every donation small and large makes a difference towards meeting Sunset’s goal.
Your support helps Sunset provide the best learning environment for its students.
