All Local, All The Time
Wilma (Willie) Naomi Moffett was born on Aug. 29, 1938 and passed away on Sept. 9, 2017. Willie was born to parents Edna and Ovel Tucker who both preceded her in death. Willie was very active growing up, as a member of Rainbow Girls, and was one of the founding members of the Jobs Daughters in Englewood, and very involved with 4-H. It was while she was in high school she met her future husband, Wallace (Wally) Moffett. They married on Sept. 25, 1956 and would have celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary this September.
Willie was very active raising her children by being a 4-H leader, in Jobs Daughters, attending football, baseball, and hockey games, and being the chauffeur for the neighborhood. Later she became actively involved with the Masonic Consistory.
Willie is survived by her husband Wally, her sisters Mona Sue McCabe and Sally Peters, and her brother Tommy Tucker, and her two children, daughter Deborah Friedholm (Dale) and son James Moffett (Jody) and two grandchildren, Greg Friedholm and Tonee Moffett. She was preceded in death by her son Gregory Moffett and by her sister Ruth Maestas. A Memorial service will be held for Willie at Niwot United Methodist Church, 7405 Lookout Rd. Longmont, 80503 on Saturday Sept. 23 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers please make donations to UMCOR in Willie’s honor.
