All Local, All The Time
Two Boulder County departments are working together to improve the trailhead at Left Hand Valley Grange Park on 83rd.
Matt Wempe, with Boulder County Transportation, said that they are building the restrooms while the Parks and Open Space department is doing the rest of the improvements.
“It’s really meant to serve not only folks using the park but those use the Longmont-Boulder regional trail,” Wempe said.
The restroom will be a two-stall prefabricated building colored similar to the rest of the Open Space restrooms.
Wempe said that they are currently seeking bids, with work likely to start by next spring.
The project is funded from the regional trail sales tax part of the voter-approved regional transportation sales tax. It will be the only restroom on this project.
“The goal is to keep it open for year-round use,” Wempe said. “It’s nothing too fancy, but there is definitely a need out there and that’s what we’re trying to fill.”
