All Local, All The Time
Denver Broncos team nutritionist Bryan Snyder, RD is giving a presentation on athlete diet and fitness in the large gym at Niwot High School (8989 Niwot Rd) on Tuesday, Nov. 5 from 6:30-7:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
A former basketball player at CU-Colorado Springs, Snyder has been the Broncos full-time Director of Nutrition for more than a decade. He is a registered dietitian with Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics (AND), as well as a member of the Collegiate and Professional Sports Dietitians Association (CPSDA).
His presentation will cover several topics related to diet and health for competition, including pre-game and pre-practice fueling, hydration, recovery, supplements and sleep. Afterwards, he will take questions from audience members.
Niwot volleyball coach and teacher Daisha Agho said that Snyder’s talk will touch on many of the themes she and her students regularly discuss in her advanced biology and IB Sports, Exercise and Health Science courses.
“He reached out to us to see if he could come and speak at Niwot High School because of the academic and athletic standards we hold. He thought it would be a cool opportunity...It is geared more towards athletes and what they should eat, but it’s free to anybody and everybody who wants to come.”
