We at the Left Hand Valley Courier would like to express our sincere appreciation to the Boulder County Commissioners for the Small Business COVID-19 Relief Fund Grant we received last month.

In April, the spread of the pandemic and subsequent "stay in place" regulations led us to the difficult decision to stop printing our weekly newspaper and move to an online only subscription model. This prevented the news from getting to many elderly and low-income readers who may not use a computer or mobile device or may not have reliable access to the internet.

This grant award will allow the Courier to deliver a free print edition once a month to every home in the Left Hand Valley through September. It also will help the Courier to continue providing local businesses with the opportunity to keep the community up-to-date on openings, specials, staffing and special events. We are the only news media to provide local business advertising delivered directly to their target market.

The Left Hand Valley Courier provides community information about COVID-19 and its local impact as well as other local news that is not available anywhere else. The grant will help to maintain the community spirit of Niwot, Gunbarrel and the Left Hand Valley and help us and the local economy get back to our full potential as soon as possible. Thank you!
