All Local, All The Time
Whether you read the Nov. 4 issue of the Left Hand Valley Courier on our website or in our print edition, you will notice some big changes.
While the pandemic had forced us to stop weekly printing for several months, we recognized that we needed to enhance the Courier's website to attract new subscribers to help us through this crisis.
We were fortunate enough to receive a Facebook Journalism Grant that recognized the importance of community journalism. These funds helped us subsidize advertising for local businesses and subscriptions for seniors, who relied on the Courier for important local news. The grant also allocated funding specifically for articles on the pandemic and how it affected our local community.
We also brought in the talents of Alicia Zamora of Creative Designs and Catherine McHale of Power and Purpose Marketing to help us with rebranding the Courier and revitalizing our website, our print editions and our message.
Of course the new logo still has mountains, but they are an artistic representation of our mountains. You will see the Twin Sisters Peaks in the background, Haystack Mountain in the center and Left Hand Creek coursing through the Left Hand Valley.
Besides an updated logo, we are debuting a new font, style and layout for the website. In the coming weeks we will be enhancing our Facebook and Instagram presence to keep everyone up-to-date with breaking news articles and photos.
The Courier has been serving Niwot and Gunbarrel for over 23 years. Sharing the stories of our times with the amazing contributions our residents have made, spotlighting the business owners and their unique goods, services and foods, acknowledging the achievements of our students in their scholastic, artistic and athletic endeavors as well as their successes after they leave home, and giving voice to the activities and events of important work done by our local non-profits has defined the Courier's role in the community.
We want to thank our subscribers and advertisers for your support over these difficult months. With your continued support, we plan to continue to print at least once a month and bring you timely online news on a weekly basis.
We want you to know that we are continuing to improve, rebuild and provide award-winning local journalism to the Niwot-Gunbarrel and Left Hand Valley community. The Courier will continue to be your best source for local news.
