All Local, All The Time
On Thursday, Nov. 11, Longmont's annual Veterans Day parade made its way down Main Street to honor those who have served in the U.S. Armed Forces. Starting at 11:11 a.m., the parade featured marching bands from seven local high schools, including Niwot High, as well as marchers from local car clubs, chapters of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), the American Legion, and the Daughters of the American Revolution, fronted by Niwot's own Patty Strecker.
It was the first time since 2018 that the parade has been held. In 2019, it was canceled due to a snowstorm, and last year's parade was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
