All Local, All The Time
On Monday, Dec. 13, the Boulder County department of transportation began work on a drainage improvement project at the intersection of Niwot Road and Walker Avenue. To safely facilitate the project, traffic on Walker Avenue has been limited to southbound only, which means traffic will only be able to enter onto Walker from Niwot Road and not exit. A temporary traffic signal has been installed at Paiute Avenue during construction so residents and school staff and visitors can safely exit the area. The multi-use path and crosswalk at Niwot Road and Walker Avenue will remain open during construction. The project is expected to take seven weeks to complete, weather permitting.
The work is part of a larger Safe Routes to School Projectt that is planned for the summer of 2022. For more details and a map of the traffic control plan, visit the project webpage.
