The eagles have landed

Gunbarrel Estates resident Bill Ringer has eagle eyes and an eye for eagles. According to Ringer, both bald and golden eagles have been showing up more frequently. The two bald eagles pictured here were seen at sunset on Dec. 18 and a golden eagle was viewed just two days earlier.

"There are always more in the winter, but they can be seen here any time of year," Ringer said. I grew up in Boulder and remember when a bald eagle sighting was front page news. The eagle comeback is a great success story for wildlife preservation. We have golden eagles too.... (It's) always a treat to see the Eagles here- Boulder County Open space LOBO trail, Gunbarrel Estates."
