All Local, All The Time
The first significant change to the planned mixed-use Palmos Development property (formerly Colterra Restaurant) on the corner of 2nd Avenue and Murray Street was the removal of a mature Silver Maple tree on the west side. The stump of the tree is seen in the foreground of the photo on the right.
"As part of a permit application process with Boulder County for the new projects proposed for that property, the owner was required to do a tree inventory report from a certified arborist," according to Brett Steury, VP and project manager of Porchfront Homes, the general contractor for the new development. "That tree came up as needing to be removed for potential future property damage. The tree was decaying on the inside and in poor condition."
