All Local, All The Time
Kristian Dura is the owner of a new meditation/community center in Cottonwood Square in Niwot. The name of her business is Una Vida, which translates to "one life" in Spanish.
Dura came up with the name when she was working at a retreat center in Argentina. While she was living there, her coworkers would repeat their mantra, "Your life, my life, one life," meaning, we all share the same human spirit no matter who we are or what background we come from. And so, Dura wanted to create a center (similar to the one in Argentina) where Front Range natives will reconnect with their community.
The grand opening will take place on Friday, Sept. 2, from 4 to 7 p.m. First, there will be refreshments and a meet & greet. At 5 p.m. the Niwot Business Association will be sponsoring a ribbon-cutting ceremony. From 5:30 to 7 p.m. there will be live music, a labyrinth walk, and an opportunity to come and meet the teachers at Una Vida. The teachers are from South America, and they instruct bilingual courses on Latin dance, yoga, meditation, and Qigong (a Chinese movement meditation).
Upcoming events include "Intro Night to Family/Systemic Constellations" on Thursday, Aug. 25 from 6 to 8 p.m. where customers will learn how to confront their generational trauma, their dissatisfaction in their personal life, and learn the steps it takes to find happiness. The 2-day "Hands of Light Weekend Workshop" Aug. 27 and 28, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. is designed to help people heal from their internal struggles and pain.
