All Local, All The Time

NHS Fall Fest a big hit with local children

Niwot High School got a head start on Halloween with the school's first annual Fall Fest after school on Friday, Oct. 21. Children of all ages enjoyed a variety of booths sponsored by an array of NHS clubs and organizations, including corn hole, face painting, crafts and trunk or treat vehicles.

The Student Council organized the event and invited the community to attend the free event. Principal Eric Rauschkolb was on hand to welcome participants, as were Athletics and Activities Director Joe Brown and Band Director Wade Hendricks. The school tweeted, "So many students, future Cougars and community members came out & had a blast!"

A mariachi band comprised of NHS students, many decked out in costume, entertained the crowd with a variety of tunes. An escape room experience was available in the school for older children.

"Leah Messinger and the student council have done an amazing job involving the community," Rauschkolb said. Messenger, a Niwot High graduate, is the faculty advisor to the student council.
