All Local, All The Time
I moved to Niwot in 1975 from Nebraska (did you know that Niwot used to be in Nebraska Territory?), and I knew it was the right place when I went to a Niwot High School football game....A lady in the stands recognized me... because she used to babysit me....in Nebraska.
Since then I've been an attorney, a volunteer firefighter, a coach, a swimming instructor, a Sunday School teacher, a band member, a sportswriter, and now an editor. My wife Susan and I have three children and one bonus son, along with six grandchildren and one great-grandson. Most of them live in the area. They keep us busy.
You might see me at a sporting event or a band concert, or at Rock & Rails or some other community event. If you do, please say hello.
Niwot is exactly what I was looking for as a place to live and work: A small town with plains on one side, mountains on the other; close to a college town, close to a metropolitan area, but not in them; and a day's drive to get back to Nebraska.
In my spare time, I play racquetball, collect baseball cards, watch the Cubs and Rockies, water ski, kayak, and read a few books.
And herd the cats for this newspaper.
