All Local, All The Time
A third generation Coloradoan, I was born in Longmont and grew up in Southmoor Park where my parents (Courier carriers Otto and Arlene Ahlgrim) reside today. Graduating from Niwot High School in the 1980s, I saw Niwot as a sleepy farming community with a few subdivisions housing mostly IBM employees.
In November of 1980, I was hired at the only law firm in town, the Law Office of Bruce W. Warren, and have been fortunate enough that even though the firm has evolved to Warren, Carlson & Moore, LLP, they haven't changed the locks on me. To say that I have the best co-workers is an understatement. Most days I can be found doing administrative work, accounts receivable and payable, billing and aiding clients through the probate process.
Nights and weekends in the winter are spent with my husband, Tony, who grew up in south Boulder, my two children, Alex who keeps the Gunbarrel King Soopers well stocked (when the trucks come in), and Kirsten who is a first-grade teacher at Hygiene Elementary. Walking keeps me busy as does my book club and crocheting.
In the summer, I can often be seen on Thursday nights organizing the awesome servers at Rock & Rails, and on weekends I can be found at Lake McConaughy kayaking, boating, reading on the beach, and hanging out with friends.
As one of the founding owners of the Left Hand Valley Courier, I have enjoyed being "in the know" around town. I am currently serving as Business Manager for the paper. In addition, I've served as Secretary/Treasurer of Niwot Youth Sports and am currently Treasurer of the Niwot Cultural Arts Association.
