Isaac Stephens Profile

It was only this past summer I debated pursuing a career in journalism. Two weeks later I got invited to a journalism conference in Washington, D.C., and next thing you know, I knew what I wanted to do for the rest of my life.

I am 16 years old and a junior at Niwot High School. I play hockey in the fall as a goaltender, and I play rugby in the spring as a scrum half.

Outside of school, sports, and friendships, there is journalism. I've been taking photos for over 2 years now, but I've been writing for the Left Hand Valley Courier since August of 2022. I first started out by covering the Niwot High School football team, and had a great experience throughout the season, so when I was asked if I wanted to cover the boys basketball season as well, I happily accepted.

Once I'm done with high school, I plan to go to college and get a degree in journalism, but past that, who knows what will happen. There's still a whole life ahead of me.
