All Local, All The Time
Deb Fowler, vice-president of the NBA, was pleased with the results of the Pumpkin Walk, an NBA event held throughout October which was funded by the Niwot Local Improvement District (LID).
Fowler reported to members of the LID on Jan. 10, that the Pumpkin Walk marketing program was a success. Pumpkin Walk passes and a list of 15 participating businesses were distributed to the first 100 shoppers who stopped in to Fowler's real estate office.
Each business stamped the passes and provided a complimentary gift to the customers. Shoppers who bought items from at least four stores and turned in the receipts were entered into a drawing for prizes.
Fowler was pleased with the response as all 100 passes were picked up, and 20 passes were completed by shoppers who visited all participating retail businesses in Niwot.
"We captured 59 email addresses...that were added to the NBA weekly newsletter," Fowler said. Total sales from receipts turned in were $4,008.31, with an average spend of $200.41. She noted that 58% of the participants were from Niwot, 24% were from Longmont, and 18% were from other surrounding communities.
When asked if they were first-time visitors to at least one participating business, 100% answered "yes," with the average being four new places visited per customer.
