Open Space ditch burns begin March 5

The Boulder County Fire Management Program will conduct ditch and agricultural burns on Boulder County open space beginning March 5. The first will be a training burn on March 5 at Wittemyer Ponds, near the corner of East County Line Road and Highway 52. The burns will continue through the spring. If you see heavy smoke in any of the following locations in the next few months, it is not an emergency so do not call 911. The local scheduled burns to date are:

Jim Henry, North 115th Street and Niwot Road

Gaynor Lake, North 107th Street and Oxford Road

Wittemyer Ponds, East County Line Road and Highway 52

Leggett Ditch, East County Line Road and Oxford Road
