NBA moves to add admin help

With few vacancies in Niwot's commercial district, and an increasing need for administrative help for the many events sponsored by the Niwot Business Association, the NBA is seeking to hire someone from the community to provide assistance to the organization.

At the April meeting, president Eric Bergeson said that the NBA would seek funding from the Niwot Local Improvement District (LID) for the position. Bergeson reported that since Catherine McHale's term as Economic Development Director has expired, some of the savings from that position would be used for administrative help, noting that many of the event organizers are nearing burn-out.

"We want someone local, someone who is passionate about Niwot," Bergeson said. The next major event sponsored by the organization is Around the World Day, slated for Saturday, May 20, with a Lobsterfest in early June to follow.

The monthly meeting of the NBA was held at Una Vida, which is located across the parking lot to the west of the Niwot Market. Owner Kristin Dura and several of the meditation and movement teachers, including long-time NBA membership coordinator Felicia Santelli, were on hand to welcome guests.

Sarah Cioni, owner of Belle Terre, was the featured speaker for the evening, describing her journey from single mom in Niwot opening a flower shop known as The Painted Primrose, to Hollywood where she provided flowers to the stars, and back again to Niwot where she maintains a retail shop, a presence in Niwot Market, and a busy wedding schedule.

The NBA meets monthly at 6 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month at various members' locations.
