David Björkman count
While on my walk early one morning, I saw a solitary deer standing along the brook across 83rd Street from the Overbrook Trail. I thought it was unusual there was only one deer, but I didn't give it much thought and started walking on the trail. Suddenly, I saw two more deer rushing to catch up with their leader, who by now was already across the street. However, there was a fence separating them, and having watched deer gracefully bound over the fences on our property in Salida, I waited to see how these two would get to the other side. Here, in the early morning fog, after a slight hesitation, this one jumped the fence in a graceful leap.
