All Local, All The Time
I am a 2019 graduate of Niwot High School and recently earned a Journalism and Media Communication degree from Colorado State University in 2023, with a minor in Spanish.
I grew up in Lyons, Colorado, and moved to southwest Longmont when I was 15. I was on the varsity softball team at Niwot High for all four years and was elected as a co-captain with my best friend, Caitlyn Schreiner, my senior year. In high school, I was an outfielder but I played third base my junior year. I have a brother who graduated from Niwot High School in May 2023.
I basically grew up at Coors Field watching the Rockies, but my interest in the team has declined as they continue to lose. Growing up, Troy Tulowitzki and Todd Helton were my favorite baseball players because at the time, I played shortstop and first base.
My favorite hockey player is the captain of the Colorado Avalanche, Gabe Landeskog, who is currently out of the lineup on long-term injury reserve.
My favorite books include "1984" by George Orwell, and "Fahrenheit 451" by Ray Bradbury.
Since 2019, I have been covering sports, contributing to several publications, including The Rink - Colorado, and the Left Hand Valley Courier. When not reading a book or traveling, I can be found at a hockey or baseball game.
