All Local, All The Time

Staff Profile: Lisha Louhan

I'm Lisha Nouhan, and I've been writing for the Courier since last August. However, as a very busy (and poor) Studio Art major at the University of Denver, writing for the paper has been a great opportunity.

I have lived in Colorado for most of my life, and while I live in Denver during school, on breaks I live in Longmont with my parents and my younger brother who is a freshman at CU Boulder. I graduated from Silver Creek High School in 2021.

As a DU student in my junior year, I keep myself busy with late night studio work, a violin performance minor, and an extremely incidental presidency of the taekwondo club.

Though my future does not prominently feature writing, I have always loved it since being declared gifted in reading and writing as a child. Particularly, I enjoy literature and cinema analysis, most recently demonstrated in an extensive and long-winded presentation on the merits of the infamous musical "Cats," to the detriment of my patient friends.

As a visual arts major, my expertise lies in 2D mediums like drawing and painting, though I've recently dabbled in ceramics and sculpture. In August, a sculpture of mine-a cardboard moth scaled up to three feet long-was featured at the Boulder Public Library's "Little Creatures" exhibit.

Other than various visual, performance, and literary arts, my passions include the practice of taekwondo (I'm a green belt!), practicing my Chinese so as to not disappoint my grandmother, and working as an amateur confectioner and pâtissier at Robin Chocolates.
