All Local, All The Time
Niwot Elementary School will showcase over 50 student acts at the "Niwot Kids Got Talent" show on Friday, Feb. 2, at 6 p.m. in the Niwot High School auditorium. Tickets are available at the door for $5 for adults and students in sixth grade and above. Students in fifth grade and under are free.
"The talent show is a longstanding, beloved tradition at Niwot Elementary," said Principal Nancy Pitz. "I've been at the school for 10 years now and it was a well-established event when I got here. It's all about celebrating the creativity, passion, and talent of our young performers. We have an amazing lineup of singers, dancers, musicians, and more, who have been working hard to showcase their skills for the community."
The opening act always spotlights a medley of students across grades. This year, the opening act takes a cue from the new year. "It's 2024, so we are shining like 24-karat gold," said event chair Liz Napp. "Our opening will feature students dancing to '24 Karat Magic' by Bruno Mars."
There are two additional highly anticipated large group acts each year - the teacher act and the fifth-grade act. The teacher act features Niwot Elementary staff and Principal Pitz. Kara Yonker, a fifth-grade teacher, is the mastermind behind these acts which are always a crowd pleaser for both young and old. The fifth-grade act will be the finale of the talent show and can tug on the heartstrings as this will be the last NES talent show for these kids before they continue on to middle school.
