Changes at Perry, Roane & Henley, CPAs

CPAs and Niwot residents Don Perry and Dayna Roane joined forces in Niwot in 2010 to form the accounting firm, Perry & Roane, P.C. In addition to their professional accounting and tax services, the partners were active in the community, providing pro bono services to a wide range of Niwot area non-profits, including Niwot Youth Sports, the Niwot Business Association, the Niwot Cultural Arts Association, and Left Hand Grange No. 9.

While Perry retired from the firm several years ago, he continued to provide consulting services and took care of a few longtime clients. CPA Scott Henley joined the firm in 2015, and in 2020, he became a shareholder and his name was added to the firm name, which became Perry, Roane & Henley, P.C.

As of 2024, Roane has joined Perry in retiring from the firm, which is now owned entirely by Henley and Collin Eggebrecht, who joined the firm a year ago. Roane will continue to provide consulting services to the firm, but plans on spending more time with her family.

The firm, with offices at 149 Second Avenue in Niwot, will continue to provide tax preparation, bookkeeping, tax planning and business consulting services.

Both Henley and Eggebrecht have ties to the area. Henley, a CPA, grew up in Mead, and is a Skyline High School graduate. He obtained his undergraduate degree from Colorado State University, and a Masters of Taxation from the University of Denver. His practice includes small business consulting and transactions, as well as a focus on trusts and estates.

Eggebrecht, an Enrolled Agent, is originally from Morrison, Colorado, and now lives in Berthoud. “When I went to college, I majored in hospitality,” he recalled. “Then I took one accounting course and when the balance sheet balanced, that was it.” He spent eight years at the national accounting firm, Ernst & Young before joining the Niwot firm. Eggebrecht has traveled the world, living in Argentina and India. As a result he has developed an expertise in foreign tax returns, including taxation of high net worth individuals.

“I’ve always loved helping people, and wanted to be more local,” Eggebrecht said of the move to Niwot. “We want to get through the busy season,” Henley said, “then we will be open to taking new clients.” Eggebrecht said, “We hope to grow naturally, but not too fast.”

The firm’s staff includes senior staff accountant Brett Brunken, office manager Juli Young, admin Bryce Knapp, admin Jenny Nunez, and senior staff accountant Emma Briggs.
