All Local, All The Time
Niwot High School is host to over 60 student-run clubs, and one stand-out is the Dance Club.
As described by Dance Club leader Ellie Rauschkolb, "Dance Club is a club that is open to anyone who wants to perform and learn to dance and have fun. We perform at assemblies and the Niwot Open House which are our biggest performances. Niwot Dance Club is not an auditioning club which is great since it's open to anyone who wants to join, whether they're experienced or not."
Every year Dance Club performs at the Homecoming Assembly, the Niwot High School Open House, Winter Formal Assembly, and Prom Assembly, which are all attended by all NHS students and staff.
The Dance Club Leadership Team is made up of NHS English teacher Ashley Mouw, junior Katherine Cui, and sophomore Ellie Rauschkolb. Cui and Rauschkolb tend to choreograph the dances that the group prepares for assemblies.
"My favorite part of Niwot Dance Club is that everyone is always super excited to learn," said Midori Waterman, a Dance Club member. "Everyone tries their best and it really shows."
Their upcoming performance at the Niwot High School Prom Assembly this spring will be their longest performance to date. The group members are excited to show off the new skills that they've learned while working together throughout this year.
