NHS Senior Car Parade drives to the future

The fourth annual Senior Car Parade for the graduating seniors of Niwot High School will gear up on Wednesday, May 15. Seniors will have a chance to decorate their vehicles or floats after school, if they didn't get a head start already, and then make their way down Niwot Road, through 2nd Avenue, north on Murray Street, east along Neva Road to 83rd Street, and then east up Niwot Road to end back at the high school.

This event was started in 2020 during Covid-19 as a way to socially distance while still acknowledging Niwot High seniors as they approached graduation. The parade has been a tradition ever since as a fun way for the whole community to get involved in celebrating the remarkable seniors' dedication and hard work at NHS.

Organized by parents of seniors, the NHS Booster Club helps sponsor and advertise the event as well as provide ways for the community to view the motorcade and cheer the students on.

The parade will start at 5:30 p.m. as cars depart from NHS and make their way into town. Anyone needing to travel through Niwot at that time will need to do so preemptively or otherwise be prepared to wait out the traffic. Community members are encouraged to line the parade route to support and cheer on the graduating seniors.

While it is not an official event of the high school or Booster Club, the Boosters purchased beads and rally poms for participants in the parade as well as onlookers, so be sure to come out and engage with the Cougar school spirit.
