All Local, All The Time
The main hall of Left Hand Grange No. 9 is in the midst of getting a big update. Improvements to the gathering space over the past year are now officially from floor to ceiling. In May, newly installed ceiling tiles and freshly painted walls renewed and greatly improved the space's ambiance.
Both bathrooms have also been updated with new fixtures and paint. Next up, literally, will be new lighting fixtures. The Grange invites the public to stop in and to peer through the windows to get a good look at the work in progress.
Rotary Club of Niwot
Thursdays, June 6 and June 13, 7:30 - 8:30 a.m.
Rotary International is one of the world's largest service organizations. Its mission is to "provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace."
The Rotary Club of Niwot welcomes all members of the community to their morning meetings at the Grange, beginning at 7:30 a.m.
In June, there are two Thursday meetings; June 6 and June 13. Many of the morning meetings are centered on a speaker, and on June 13, the president of the Niwot Business Association, Eric Bergeson, will present the priorities of the NBA.
Breakfast is served at each meeting to get the day off to a good start. To learn more about the Rotary Club of Niwot and the causes the club supports, visit http://www.niwotrotary.org.
Left Hand Grange No. 9 members' meeting
Wednesday, June 12, 5:30 - 7:00 p.m.
Grange members are invited to attend monthly meetings where they'll get the inside scoop on what's happening at the Grange: events, building improvements, and the structure of the organization. As always, questions, comments, opinions, and ideas are very welcome.
Rock away the night while volunteering
Thursday, June 27, 4:30 - 9:30 p.m.
Niwot Community Hall, the non-profit that owns the home of Left Hand Grange No. 9, was selected to be the tip jar recipient at Rock & Rails on June 27. When an organization receives the proceeds of the nightly tip jar, they're asked to supply volunteers to be concert greeters, to sit at an information table at the entrance, and to assist with concert setup and breakdown.
This is an opportunity to tell concert-goers about the Grange and to raise much needed funds. It's always a fun time interacting with folks, having money thrown your way, and listening to the music.
The opening act on June 27th is Jack Hadley playing the blues, and the headliner is Motown band One on One.
If you are able to volunteer any portion of that evening and would like a free drink for volunteering, please write to [email protected]" target="_blank">[email protected].
The Grange is looking for a grant writer, volunteer event coordinator, and a volunteer coordinator.
Now that the non-profit entity, Niwot Community Hall, owns the Grange building, the organization is looking for volunteer assistance to coordinate events, recruit volunteers, and write grants.
If planning and organizing events, working with volunteers, and applying for grants are your superpowers, you'll derive great satisfaction helping Niwot's community center reach its goals.
Please contact the Grange's president, Jim Dorvee, for more details by writing to [email protected].
