Niwot Jazz Festival, a jazz lover's paradise

The Niwot Jazz Festival is bringing Niwot its third year of melodious magic. Founded by Gene Hayworth and Keith Walters in conjunction with the Niwot Cultural Arts Association in 2021, this festival has quickly become a beloved tradition in Niwot. With over 800 visitors in past years from all over Colorado, the 2024 Niwot Jazz Festival, set for Saturday, June 22, in Cottonwood Square, promises to be the place to be.

From 3:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Cottonwood Square will transform into a jazz lover's paradise. This year's lineup will be a musical journey through various jazz styles, catering to diverse tastes and preferences.

The smooth sounds of Brazilian choro by the Dexter Payne Quintet, will be followed by the soulful melodies of Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, played by West Coast sensations Brian Levy and Greg Gisbert. Festival goers will be mesmerized by the enchanting vocals of Dominique Eade, backed by the talented Keith Waters Trio consisting of Keith Waters on piano, Mark Simon on bass, and Paul Romaine on drums. To cap off the night, don't miss the chance to dance your heart out at the salsa dance party with Quemando Salsa.

This amazing festival is not just about music. It is about bringing people together and supporting the local community. Drawing visitors from near and far, the festival hopes to give a boost to Niwot's businesses as well. Attendance at the festival is free.

As folks explore the charming streets of Niwot, they are encouraged to check out the shops and eateries, adding to the vibrant tapestry of the town.

Behind the scenes, the dedication and passion of countless individuals bring the Niwot Jazz festival to life. From volunteers to sponsors, each person and business plays a vital role in creating an unforgettable experience for all.

Hayworth said, "Planning and operation of the festival involves many members of the community, which in turn fosters community engagement and pride, helps build community, and forges new relationships."

The festival is possible due to the loyal support of its sponsors, Niwot Local Improvement District, Pathways to Jazz, Porchfront Homes, DRF Real Estate LLC, Niwot Inn & Spa, Fly Away Home, Warren, Carlson and Moore, LLP, Attorneys, and Inkberry Books.

So, grab your friends, bring your family and come to a day filled with jazz, joy, and memories to last a lifetime. Let the music keep you company and make this year's festival a truly unforgettable experience.
