Alison and Seth Steele named Grand Marshals of 4th of July Parade in Niwot

Alison and Seth Steele, owners and operators of the Niwot Market, have been named as the Grand Marshals for the upcoming 4th of July Parade in Niwot. Not only do they continue to manage the Niwot Market, but they have been active volunteers for different community events as they carry on the legacy of their father, Bert Steele.

"Their Niwot heritage and being involved in activities reflects over a century of families serving the Niwot community," said Kathy Koehler, one of the organizers of the 4th of July festivities for the Niwot Community Association (NCA).

Prior to the parade, the annual Pancake Breakfast (formalized as the "Bert Steele" Pancake Breakfast) will be held at the Niwot Market from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The Niwot Community Semi-Marching Free Grange Band will perform at the breakfast starting at 9 a.m. and bicycle decorating will start at 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., also in front of the Niwot Market.

The parade steps off at 11 a.m. from the intersection of Meadowdale Drive and Niwot Road, heading west down Niwot Road then turning onto 2nd Avenue. As a reminder, 4th of July in Niwot is a non-political event celebrating our national independence. Any signs or representation of a political nature are not permitted.

In addition to the Community Band, participants in the parade this year include the Mountain View Fire District's antique fire truck, the Anthem Wranglerettes dance team, Niwot Patriotic Cookie Moms (who will also be assisting with the Pancake Breakfast), the Niwot United Methodist Church, Niwot High School Booster Club, NHS Cheerleaders, NHS "Pride of Niwot" Marching Band, Scout Troop 161, Inkberry Books, Up-A-Creek Robotics, LOCO Ukulele, and antique cars, as well as the traditional bike riders.
