All Local, All The Time
Gargoyles are hard-working students, incredible team players, great friends, and an integral piece of the Niwot community over the summer at Lobsterfest and Rock & Rails. They assist in keeping events at Whistle Stop Park zero-waste.
The Courier is spotlighting some of these friendly, essential volunteers.
Francesca Fowler has been volunteering as a Gargoyle for three years. She is an active member of the Niwot community.
Through volunteering around town to being a part of the Scout Troop 161, Fowler has been a constant figure in the Niwot community for her entire life. Fowler is a hardworking, consistent, and reliable person and friend. She’s always willing to take one for the team.
Fowler has a knack for speaking to people and has shown that over the past three years through small talk with concert goers as they throw away compostable and recyclable items they have accumulated throughout the night. As a Gargoyle, these skills are very valuable and never go unnoticed. Fowler's dedication to Rock & Rails is obvious.
Fowler’s favorite memory of her time being a Gargoyle at Rock & Rails was witnessing an epic dance competition during her first year volunteering on a slow night. The community coming together in exciting ways such as dancing is something that Fowler admires.
Not only does Fowler volunteer for fun, she also volunteers to get community service hours to pursue her passion and move up through the many ranks as a member of Scout Troop 161.
Fowler’s charisma and kindness have made her an incredible volunteer and member of the Gargoyle team. Not only do her peers admire her, but supervisors have also recognized her as an outstanding Gargoyle.
The Gargoyles have been an integral part of Rock & Rails since the concert series began. Scott Barto and Julie Breyer currently supervise the Gargoyles and run the program each summer to ensure that the Rock & Rails concerts run smoothly and safely.
